Relationships – Some Lessons Learned

I am not sure where to start when I am talking about relationships. I guess I should start at the beginning and go from there. I am not going to talk about my past relationships, that would be a whole other story. What I will talk about is what I have learned in my experiences with relationships. I have learned a lot of things, some of which are good and some of which are bad. So I want to share with you some of my lessons learned.

The first thing that I learned was how important it is to be yourself. It may sound like an obvious thing to say but sometimes we get caught up in trying to impress people or do things that we think they want us to do. This can be a big mistake. If you don’t know who you are then you will not know how to behave in any given situation. The second thing that I learned was that you need to treat everyone with respect. If you do not show respect to your friends, family, or even strangers then you will not be respected by anyone. The third thing that I learned was that communication is very important. You need to communicate with others and listen to what they have to say. If you do not communicate then you will not know what they want. The fourth thing that I learned was that it is important to let people know how much you appreciate them. If you show appreciation to others then they will be more likely to appreciate you. The fifth thing that I learned was that love is important. Love is important because if you love someone then you will want to help them. If you do not love someone then you will not care about helping them. The sixth thing that I learned was that forgiveness is important. Forgiveness is important because if you forgive someone then you will not hold onto anger. The seventh thing that I learned was that honesty is important. Honesty is important because if you lie to someone then you will never be able to trust them. The eighth thing that I learned was that trust is very important. Trust is important because if you do not trust someone then you will never be happy with their actions. The ninth thing that I learned was that patience is important. Patience is important because if you do things quickly then you will never be able do anything right. The tenth thing that I learned was that being positive is important. Being positive is important because if you are negative then you will have a hard time finding happiness. The eleventh thing that I learned was that friendship is very important. Friendship is very important because if you do not have friends then you will not be able to feel happy. The twelfth thing that I learned was that laughter is important. Laughter is important because if you are not laughing then you will not be able find happiness.

These are just a few of the things that I learned while growing up. These are some of the things that I wish I knew when I was younger. I hope that these things will help you as you look for a relationship.
